The Incoming international experience is our priority!

Incoming Mobility is a program that welcomes students, professors, and staff from international partner institutions of UniFAJ and UniMAX University Centers. Through Incoming Mobility, international students have the opportunity to study in our areas of excellence, integrating into a vibrant and welcoming academic community. With qualified professors, cultural activities, study materials available in English, and Portuguese courses for foreigners, UniFAJ and UniMAX offer a comprehensive experience that combines quality practical learning, cultural immersion, and a lifelong network of connections.

Application process

The application process for Incoming Mobility students at Max Planck University Center – UniMAX and Jaguariúna University Center – UniFAJ, for study and internship purposes, is structured into clear stages, beginning with meeting the Eligibility Criteria.

Application Deadlines
  • September 4th to October 15th for the 1st semester (Feb-Jun) and the full academic year (Feb-Dec)
  • February 2nd to March 18th for the 2nd semester (Aug-Dec)
Application Completion and Submission

The process begins with completing the online Application Form. In this form, applicants must provide their personal and academic information and ensure the submission of the Required Documentation:

  • Proof of enrollment at the home institution;
  • Updated academic transcript;
  • Study plan;
  • Proof of Portuguese language proficiency;
  • One recent 3x4 photo.
Evaluation and Confirmation

After submission, the application is reviewed by the Evaluation Committee (comprising course coordinators and representatives from the International Department). If accepted, the student receives confirmation of acceptance into the mobility program via an Acceptance Letter sent to both the student and their home institution, confirming acceptance and detailing the course and mobility period.

  • Analysis and Decision
    • October 16 to 30 for the 1st semester (Feb-Jun) and the full academic year (Feb-Dec).
    • March 19 to April 02 for the 2nd semester (Aug-Dec).
  • Issuance of Acceptance Letters
    • October 30 to November 14 for the 1st semester (Feb-Jun) and the full academic year (Feb-Dec).
    • April 06 to 20 for the 2nd semester (Aug-Dec).
Enrollment and Pre-Arrival Orientation

Accepted students will receive detailed guidance on the next steps and preparation for their mobility period. These Pre-arrival and welcome orientations include essential information regarding Required Documentation and academic preparation. Students must then participate in the orientation sessions organized for new international students. Finally, students complete their Enrollment at the chosen university center. For this process, the following are required:

  • Student visa;
  • Copy of a valid passport
  • Proof of international health insurance
  • Completed Enrollment Form.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who can participate?

Students from UniFAJ and UniMAX partner universities are eligible to participate if they wish to undertake a study period in Brazil, whether for one or two semesters or for an internship, under the terms of international mobility agreements.

How long does the exchange program last?

The mobility period can be short-term or last up to one academic year (1 or 2 semesters), depending on the agreement established with the home university.

Do I need to speak Portuguese to study at UniFAJ and UniMAX?

While fluency in Portuguese is not mandatory, it is advisable to have some level of comprehension and communication in the language (A2/B1). UniFAJ and UniMAX offer language support and Portuguese courses for foreigners, in addition to providing materials and activities in English, which facilitates the international student's adaptation.

Generally, students remain enrolled at their home university and do not pay tuition fees at UniFAJ and UniMAX, in accordance with current academic cooperation agreements.

Students can enroll in courses across UniFAJ and UniMAX's various areas of excellence, in accordance with the partnership established between the institutions and the academic availability of each program.

How can I apply?

Applications are submitted through the official channels of the home institution, in partnership with the International Department of UniFAJ and UniMAX. Deadlines and procedures are communicated directly by the partner institution.
